Blast from the Past

Postby SirJill » Sat Sep 09, 2017 12:04 pm

Do you feel old? I sure do.

Hi all!

I was a regular on this site probably 10-13 years ago? Back when we were on the old green/black format. I was pretty active in the writing forums as well as the social and off topic chats. I'm super glad to see a couple of familiar names (Bmat, Qray, The Master, Neurolanis, Aldan, among others).

I've recently had some weird life changes that I'm trying to navigate. I walked away from a group of friends that was pretty toxic for me, which, while good, has left me with a lot of free time. I'm trying to fill it and parse out my social baloney by writing again. I was thinking earlier today 'man, I wish I had a community of folks that I could talk to about writing'.

Enter SV. It looks like some forums are more active than others? Where's the action at, friends? How have your lives been?

Hi, SJ! I remember you. :)
Welcome back!

As far as I can tell, the off-topic conversations seems to be the most active, although a few other topics are, too.

Aw! Bmat and Talon Sinnah! I remember both of you, too!

Thank you for the warm welcome. How have you both been? What's new? How are things?

Been good. Don't know when I last seen you so I will give a quick rundown. Switched jobs and happy with my new one. Married with two kids currently looking to buy a house and quit renting trying to devote more time to writing( succeeding for the most part) and as always fighting with crazy Kentucky weather.

I am glad that you like your new job Talon!

I am retired now. And loving it. I spend time every week visiting my mom, who is in a nursing home, and getting together with friends, and reading.
