Mrs Peppercorn's Magical Reading Room

Postby BlackLakeFilms » Tue May 31, 2011 4:36 am

Hi everyone,

In February 2010 we set out to make the best magical/fantasy short film we could on the limited resources and funds. In September 2010 we released the first trailer for the film which ended up going viral with over 7000 hits in a weekend. Then the trailer alone won an award at the International Movie Trailer Festival in Los Angeles.

We then held the premiere of the film at Bafta, London in England to invite only guests which included film magazines like MovieSope and Variety. Shortly after we started to see reviews appearing online and then the big one Variety did an article on the 18th April which hit both USA and UK soil with a rave review.

We decided not to enter the film into festivals and felt that everyone should be entitled to see our little film with BIG production value for free in the hope that if you like it, you’ll tell your friends, colleagues and blog it over the internet. So turn down the lights, turn up the sound and visit our website to watch the film.

http://www.mrspeppercornthemovie.co.uk – click film to see the film, click reviews to see what everyone else is saying.

We hope you enjoy the film.

A very nice short film, with the visual production qualities being by far the stand out including a couple of shockingly good special effects elements (hard to believe this was done on a tiny budget). I think the soundtrack was a little heavy handed because it seemed rather ominous to me at times. Overall though a very solid effort.
