Battlestar Galactica ought to be on there. Both series.

The original Night Stalker, from the 70s.
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me.

Here's another possible nominee: The Outer Limits. The original version had a really neat opening sequence. It was similar to The Twilight Zone, but tended to have more sci-fi oriented plots.

Another one that could be added to the list would be Lost in Space. It was a bit silly, but it had some interesting visuals for it's day. The robot was really neat.

And yet another one: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The earlier shows were more cold-war tension sort of stuff, but it stareted to have more themes about monsters and such later on. I think the earlier shows in the series could be considered hard-scifi, since it was based around this advanced submarine.

Yeah, I watched a lot of re-runs of old shows when I was a kid.

How about the original Flash Gordon? It got me interested in SF, the reruns, naturally.

I also nominate Lost in Space

How about:

SeaQuest DSV: set in the future on an advance futurist submarine... mankind colonizing the oceans.....

and then there is:

Sliders: Quinn unlocks the way to an infinite number of different parallel Earths. Of course something goes wrong... and a small group ends up not being about to return to their Earth.....

I also liked SeaQuest DSV and Sliders, but I think they both suffered the same fate in that the later episodes just didn't have the appeal for me that the earlier ones did.

In the case of Sliders, it was the cast change. They should've ended the series at that point with all the original characters ending up back home are at least NOT with an open ended plot (damn t.v. execs.)

Is it just me, or did DSV's episodes just started getting...weird...there at the end?

Do you mean the very first Flash Gordan series that ran from 1954-1955?

The nominee list has been updated again. If anyone has nominated a show and doesn't see it on the list, please let me know.

I've also nominated Star Trek : Enterprise (originally titled Enterprise during it's first two seasons.)

Not to take anything away from the other ST series, but with the exception of ST : TOS, Enterprise is my favorite. They continued to use more "realistic lighting" that we first saw pioneered in the science fiction genre on Babylon 5 and was further used in ST : DS9. It featured storylines that further expanded some of the well established races (such as the Andorians and Vulcans) had an exceptional cast, a great retro look, minimal techno-babble, and took us back to a time before political correctness and the Prime Directive.

Regardless of the fact that they butchered the Star Trek Time Line and (especially in the last season) pandered to blatant ratings ploys in their plots, it remains for me one of the best Star Trek series.

I think so... Buster Crabbe?

oops... I didn't realize that these were movie serials.. When I get a few minutes I'll dig into them a bit more, but I may have to withdraw the nomination. When I saw them they came on Saturday mornings on tv, so I remembered them as tv shows.
