Now just started watching series 2 of the show,

About one ep: A young lady locked in a tower, how original, I wonder why no one thought of that one before....

About series: The series started with the problem of the underworld about to invade the world at any moment, there is a need to close the crack. However now after a few eps, some eps they seem to almost completely forget about the major threat that is going to destroy all life, because they need to help someone, I can see that you don't want the main story line to end before the series is over, but it seems to be taking a back seat...surely it should take top priority

The sword of truth is pretty much the name. The sword itself acts like a buffer to shield the Seeker against the effects of killing. It amplifies the anger to the point the Seeker will not feel the guilt of killing. On the downside if the Seeeker is not one hundred percent sure the villian should die and ttry to kill them anyway the sword will not let them or will magnify the guilt or pain and turn it toward he Seeker. It also stores all the fighting prowesss of the past Seekers in it as well so the informnation they learned is never lost but always able to be used by the Seeker. In the book Richard had to turn the blade white to kill a Mord Sith. Is this the incident you refer to? He did this by completly forgiving Dana/ the villian for their crime and suffers none of the ill effects of the Sword and does not need to get angry.

I could tell you what is up with Richard but it is a spoiler sorry.

This is not the incident I refer to, the creature was not a Mord Sith, it was if I remember correctly a person {who was not a Sith} who turned into a strange creature at night time, that then killed people, but it was not a werewolf.

The episodes that I saw dealt with some ladies in a fortress who had magical powers. Being new to the series a lot of it was confusing to me. In general I liked the stories.

You will notice that the name of the topic has changed, because the series is called "Legend of the Seeker" and a number of people may not know that it is based on the book series called "The Sword of Truth."

Thus as you can see the topic is now called "Legend of the Seeker {The Sword of Truth}"

When I first posted about it under my former name, I did not know the series would have a different name to the book series.

Bmat if you had caught the first few eps of series one you would know what is going on.

The seeker is Richard who carries the sword of truth. There is the wizard called Zedd {for short}. There is also Kahlan, the main woman who is a Confessor. Confessors who are only ever women and nearly always dressed in white, have powers but they are not wizards. Richard and Kahlan like each other but they can not be together due to her powers.

Then there are the Mord'Sith who are also only women, and are usually dressed in dark red clothing and carry around short sticks. They have certain abilities as well.

Note the show has been cancelled according to: Legend of the Seeker Star Wanted Her Character "To Have Good Times"

:(

There are fans who want a third season.

Thank you. That answers several of my questions. The ladies in red were intriguing. :)
