Shatner Roast on Comedy Central

Post by The Master »

I thought it was beyond hysterical. Andy Dick was kind of a let down...I usually find him funny but this time his bit just didn't work for me.

It was hilarious!

The usual group of Comedy Central comedians who don't know the Roastie were there (does anyone miss, (or remember) the Friar Clubs Roasts?)

George Takei was very funny. Carrie Fisher played along well with the Andy Dick licking schtick. I personally can take about 30 seconds of Andy Dick before he gets a bit boring, but that's just me.

Is it just me, or did the expression on Shatner's face when Takei was at the podium kind of look as if he wasn't sure how much of what Takei was saying was in jest?

The clips of Shatner singing "Rocket Man," were increadible. I've got to get that CD. I definately need to bring back the Shatner Clone in the PATD.

What?

I'm a bit surprised no one touched on Shatner's writing career or his stint with Tekwar.

The Roast will be rebroadcast on Comedy Central on the following times...

Saturday Aug 26 2006 12:00 AM

Sunday Aug 27 2006 11:30 PM

Monday Sep 04 2006 10:00 PM

It seemed they were making fun of Farah Faucett's decline in attractiveness more than Shatner.

I have a feelin Tekei had some help from Howard Stern for his rant. I am sure he truly meant it when he said "F**** you and the horse you rode in on"
