Favorite Moments in TNG

Postby Bmat » Tue Jun 24, 2008 6:55 am

I just got Season 3, which has one of my favorite TNG moments:

Lwaxana, perched on Picard's lap, blows a regretful kiss to DaiMon Tog.

Majel Barrett was wonderful as Lwaxana. IMO she stole the show any time she was in the episode.

I'm not sure, but I think it was the first time in the entire franchise that an expletive was used;

Saucer section is veering out of orbit..

Lt. Commander Data: "Ooooh s**t!"
"I reject your reality, and substitute my own!" Adam Savage, Mythbusters

Really! It would have been better to just use the transporter. Much less mess for the maintenance guys to clean up....

Yes, but a holodeck accident...now that's creative.

And hard to prove. :thumright:

I enjoyed when Data would go off on a tangent whenever someone would mention a concept he was unfamiliar with. Usually in the first season of the show, In later seasons it wasn't seen much.

For example, someone would say "That was sarcasm, Data," and he'd be all "Ah, sarcasm. A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound. A form of wit. A comment including contempt or ridicule..."

Until someone (usually Picard,) would say "That's enough, Data."
I'm going to die the way I've lived...poor, screaming, and naked.

Now, was that quoted expletive from the movie "Generations"?

I believe so. But again, as far as I know, that was the first expletive. But then again, there was the banter between Kirk and Spock in "The Voyage Home" on the bus when the punk-rocker wouldn't turn down his radio.

I remember that scene. Also when Spock was trying out slang and overdid it- probably the same episode.

Speaking of TOS, or maybe one of the early movies- when Bones was walking through a hospital and talked about how barbaric the treatments were. And when Scotty tried to address the computer verbally, then realized he needed to use the mouse- and tried speaking into it.

Both scenes were in ST4: The Voyage Home.
