My greatest strength would undoubtedly be my imagination. I can always stray from cliches and overused ideas and pump out something otherworldly, usually at the drop of a hat. I don't want to brag but I tend to think of the coolest characters and concepts I've ever seen in enetertainment...
My weakness, though, is writing itself. Now, I'm a descriptive writer, and I personally like my style of writing. Theres nothing I really can think of to improve upon. My weakness is the fact that I am unable to put my imagination into words anymore. There's certain things that go through my head, fight scenes, changes of camera angle, music to go along with a scene, that cannot be expressed in the written word. Because of this I've actually stopped writing entirely.

So it shall be written, and so it shall be done.

Have you ever tried giving the impressions of camera-angles through your descriptions? I know it would never be the same, but have you ever considered for, say, a close-up simply amping up your description of the face or, say, for a sweep in angle, describing the action shift along the imagined change of angle? Granted, it would never be quite the same as, say, a movie, but it can come into certain degrees of similarity.
Sounds familiar. You see and hear everything that's going on in the scene but there's no way to put it into words without becoming clinical or mechanised in nature. Gone will be the pacing and everything!Forever Zero wrote: My weakness is the fact that I am unable to put my imagination into words anymore. strong points:
-plotting. I know how to make an overall story entertaining
-characters. I can make characters that people relate to, whether they love them or hate them.
-character interaction. Always have interesting sub-plots going between many characters. Amusing, sad, romantic, conflicting, etc.
weak points:
-work ethic. I don't write nearly as much as I should
-perfectionist. I can't write a rough copy. Every couple sentences, I have to stop and edit.
-pacing. I too often skip any needed description or atmosphere to get to the dialogue and action. Leaves it feeling rushed.
Those are the main ones.

I wish I was the artistic type. I would assume that to even have a remotely decent or successful webcomic I would need to have some artistic talent. I have more on paper, forget using a Wacom board or straight Photoshop. Anyone care to help me with this?eleika wrote:Spiderkeg - ever considered webcomicking?Spiderkeg wrote:Chances are at some point I shall endeavor to have my epic turned into a graphic novel.

I have considered starting a blog about my story, developments and direction, but probably not a safe move.

I think Spiderkeg's concerned about posting his ideas into public domain. I would caution against this if one plans to actually write the story, partially because having a well-developed story posted is just too good a chance to pass up for aspiring writers. Also, people learn by inspiration. They may incorporate some of the ideas they read into their own writing, detracting from the originality of the original.
If it's a blog between friends, I would assume it'd be alright. It's public access I would be more concerned about...
