Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of any statistics regarding gender and SpecFic?
I am male and I would say my taste can be defined as:
science fiction 50%
fantasy 20%
horror 30%
How about you?

Male, curmudgeon
SF 95%'
F 5% (and that's only Discworld, and Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser)
H 0%
Well, and to clarify: that's only wihin the "genre" .... other reading includes ethnology and anthropology, "popular" science texts, the historic roots of Beowulf and Grail legends, "popular" philosophy, graphic novels, some humor (Dave Barry mostly) and oh yeah ... medical textbooks.

Re: Genre/Gender
Female, middle-aged, wide-ranging and eclectic reading tastes.
Right now reading non-fiction science (astrobiology, discovery of exoplanets, basic biology, genetics, aging/death/life extension, to name a few) for research for my science fiction. And some "how to write science fiction" books, too. Even UFO books if they are not too preposterous,
- at first I read them to learn all the cliche's to avoid. Now I just read the ones I find interesting or about the UFO phenomenon itself (psychology of it, sociology, cultural aspects, etc.)
Other non-fiction I read can be anything from religion to cookbooks. Sometimes books about health and longevity, or about animals. Sometimes just something fascinating that I find by pure serendipity.
Fiction - also eclectic. I enjoy Young Adult - anything from Harry Potter to (yes!) Twilight, and Twilight led me to read several other YA vampire series for comparison, some of which I liked, some not so. I read non-racy romance from time to time, and cozy mysteries, and of course science fiction. Occasionally a "mainstream" novel.
Also poetry - recently I've enjoyed reading poetry by Billy Collins.
My reading ambitions for the coming year are to delve into some great works of literature and some science fiction classics that I didn't get around to in college or have forgotten, from Homer to Dante to - who knows? Plenty of Shakespeare too. Verne and Wells. All this is all driven by the science fiction novel so that I will be a well-rounded, informed writer.

C'est quand même toujours cool d'avoir ce genre d'information n'est ce pas. En tout cas, merci !
