Just to let people know testing of the new forum is currently underway

And there will be a change to get use to:

All the poster stuff on the left will move to the right....

name, AV, post count etc

master wrote:For some reason they moved the poster stuff to the right hand side for the new, CSS based/modern XHTML forum template...I'm not sure why. Interestly though, since we read left to right it actually places first focus on the content of what you say instead of who said it (so maybe that's why? ). It is possible for me to hack the files and change it, but after a little bit you get used to it and I actually now like it better.

I am hoping to have the finishing touches in place in the next couple of days. Right now I am targeting Monday for doing the conversion and switching to the new forum. The forums will be locked to all posting during the conversion process. I don't know how long it will take, probably a couple of hours minimum.

The new blogs are NOT going to be Wordpress. That integration was a nightmare and no small part in the delays have been trying everything possible to make it work. Instead we will be using a very nice native blog system that seems to work well and has a lot of nice features. I don't think you will be disappointed!

Blogs will launch with a very limited number of template options, but I will be releasing more as time goes on starting with converting the more popular choices from our current blogs to the new format.

THE NEW FORUM IS HERE!

Thank you for your patience while I fumbled through the errors to get this working! I hope its worth it! Please note that, as warned, existing blog posts did not convert :( The new blogs are quite nice and I hope that you will like them. There are currently 10 blog templates available, including the 5 Farscape templates and Aragorn template we had on our old forum. The default is to integrate completely with the forum. I know there is a lot of black backgrounds to start, so I will be working on light color schemes next. Please note that as spam prevention blogs are not enabled for every user by default. As long as your status is not "Just Registered" applying for blogger group membership will get your blog turned on!

ZOMG Where Did My Favorite Forum Go!?

This forum version supports sub-forums! The following forums have been moved to new parent sections:
  • All Lycoria forums are now a sub-section of Collaborate Stories and Writing Challenges
  • Harry Potter has moved to a sub-forum of Books and Authors
  • Star Trek and Babylon 5 are now under the Television section
  • Suggestions and Ideas (Writer's Discussion) has moved to Critique and Advice

Well, it's, white...

:snowman1: :snowman2: :northpole:

A think some colour would make it look more appealing.

The organization seems very good.
