E-mail Submissions
E-mail Submissions
I've been sending a lot of book queries in the bodies of e-mails (as agents request) as well as some short stories to magazines. Unfortunately this means that paragraphs cannot be intended, etc. I wonder if this is a problem, or if they expect it?

Re: E-mail Submissions
I would think they would expect it because email doesn't support the formatting. Be sure to use a double space to separate paragraphs so its not a wall of text.

Yeah, and I have discovered that I can indent and double space after all (by paste-copy, but I have to have the Word format set just so in order for it to work properly.

Re: E-mail Submissions
I always type submission out in word first, then copy and paste it into the email. That way I can spell check easier and find other odd grammatical errors. It also allows me to keep a generic submission that I just need to update for each new one.
