However. A friend of mine has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I'll quote from her e-mail here:
Any prayers or positive thoughts anyone might like to send in her direction would be appreciated. Her first name is Lisa, I don't think posting her whole name here without her permission would be a good idea, but God knows who she is.I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer about three weeks ago. I had a lumpectomy on Jan 20th and 12 cancerous lymph nodes removed. I’ve had a multitude of tests and scans, and luckily they can’t find any tumors anywhere else in my body. They did have to do a second surgery this past Wednesday because pathology reports showed they needed to remove more tissue for a better margin around where the tumor had been. They placed a port in my shoulder at that time as well – so I will be starting chemotherapy soon. Following that will be radiation and hormone therapy…
I know this email sounds rather glum – but I’m in good spirits and have faith that I will beat this – with a little help from my friends!
Thanks. And please don't anyone get offended. If this isn't your cup of tea, just ignore it.
