I have finally accepted the fact...

Postby TheBlueBrewer » Wed Apr 07, 2010 1:43 pm

…that most of my RLF have absolutely no interest in reading, writing or, most importantly, discussing anything that remotely resembles SF / Fantasy. Unfortunately for me (read as Very Fortunate for me), I was born with an implacatable imagination, a propensity for over-indulging in day dreams and an insatiable desire to write. I have avoided joining a forum because I have always felt that I could “go it alone”…rather stupid of me in retrospect. I am here hoping to find a peer group that enjoys not only a great SF/Fantasy story, but also appreciates all of the nuance, technique and style it takes to make so-so story exceptional. Cheers to an enlightening journey!

My husband likes SF- it's one of the influences that drew us together when we had first met. I do have a couple other friends who like it, but so many people don't have any interest in it. Welcome to Speculative Vision. I hope that you find what you are looking for.

I sort of have the same problem. I do have one friend who is into the science fiction/fantasy genre, whether it's a video game/movie/book, like me, but he rarely has free time, and we rarely hang out, since he goes to college and works at the same time. The rest of the people I know, enjoy a good sci-fi story from time to time but they never indulge in lengthier discussions, let alone to actually get themselves to join and help you develop a project of any kind. Actually, one of the reasons I joined this forum was just that. To find like-minded people and perhaps, do something together, whatever that may be, as long as its in our interests and goals.

PS: Welcome to the forum :)

I feel your pain.

Welcome to SV, BlueBrewer.
