Did you get it fixed, BK?
I have had an interesting week so far. On Monday, I was working on some finish trim for a customer. Specifically capping a half wall. My brother was helping me. I had just put a brand new, 100 tooth finish blade on my saw for this job as all my others I turned in to get sharpened. The first bevel cut, my brother did not move the saw fence out of the way. The blade hits the fences, shatters the fence and destroys the blade. On the upside, no one got hurt. On the downside, that was my $600.00 miter box and a brand new $100.00 blade.
When I got home that night, I had some left over pizza that was in the fridge. I am thinking that pizza was not too good as I have spent all day at home today vomiting. 19 times in total. Every joint and muscle in my body aches.
Good day,bad day...

Nope, computer is still FUBAR, so I'm running "Safe mode with networking". The "removal tool" I had attempted to install first, which did not install correctly, will not allow me to install any other removal tool, and I cannot un install it because it never completed it's installation (Even after deleting it's folder). I would have taken it to Geek Squad several weeks ago, but, as the old saying goes, "friends in need are friends indeed", so here I sit.
The miter and saw blade deal sounds like a pain. I had no ideal those sort of tool cost that much!
Evil Pizza: Yup, it sounds like it was past it's "eat by" date.

One possible tool to help you is rkill from Bleeping Computer. What it does is kills the processes many known virus and trojan programs use to prevent you from doing things like running a real virus scanner (they offer it with various extensions and filenames because some virus can even block it from running). It doesn't remove anything itself really, it just forces the bad stuff to close so you can use other programs that can fix the problems.
I spent several hours cleaning a very nasty trojan from my Aunt's PC. After using rkill I was able to use Superantispyware (also a good free tool) to remove the primary Trojan. I was then able to run Malwarebytes, which got rid of some other junk. We were then able to get MS Security Essentials to run and had it do a full scan of the entire drive (took several hours) where it found and removed another 8 viruses from the drive that were not in the commonly scanned areas that the others looked at already. Because reinfectors can hide on you once you are sure the computer is clean you need to 1. be sure your trashcan is empty, 2. clear all temp files and browser caches, and 3. delete all system restore points and make a fresh one.
I hope some of that is helpful, and I again recommend that you ask for help on the malwarbytes forum because they can often help remove even the most exotic malware. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573

The reason I asked was that I once ran into the same problem, so now I have all my data files on two external drives. If it happens again, I can wipe my hard drive and reinstall the OS.
You can get a miter box for $100.00, though I would not suggest anyone buy one like that. Not even for weekend projects. When you step up to a 12" blade, one with the slider option (which is needed for larger pieces of trim,) etc, it can get expensive. The same with blades. A 12" blade is more expensive that a 10" and the more teeth you add to the blade (which gives you a better finish cut) the more expensive the blade gets.)
Compared to all the other trades, carpenters and cabinet makers have the largest outlay on tools. My miter box, with a good blade, the collapsible stand, the hood, and the shop vac attachment is over $1,200.00.

I look at that shop Norm Abrams uses, and just think, "wow."

Luckily for Norm, he has an unlimited budget for tools.
This year, Norm gets laser guided pants.
Meanwhile, Joe and Ed get by with an old rag and some Van Dyke Brown...

Re: Good day,bad day...
I was referring more to the subcontracting trades in the construction industry, but if you want a comparison, the outlay of money to set up a good cabinet shop is greater than to set up a good auto body shop (my father used to own an auto body shop that I worked at, for those that do not know.)
Initial cash outlay would be greater for the auto body shop mainly due to the cost difference in cabinet spray booths and automotive spray booths, but after that, the outlay of money for tooling in a cabinet shop would surpass an auto body shop from my experience.

Yeah, but try building your own tera-watt home atomic accelerator! Then there is the little problem of convincint the electric company that it would be to their advantage to install a sub-station in your back yard. As soon as they figure out that you intend to create a mini black hole and dumping a trickle of hydrogen into the event horizon, and use the heat generated to heat water to make steam to power a turbine steam dynamo to generate enough energy to put them out of business, they slam the door in your face and treat you like you're insnae!

Moving day is the best example of "controlled chaos" I've ever seen, and I'm not sure about the "controlled" part.
