Between my mother dying and sleep apnea I've managed to acquire a massive delay in my studies. Government financial aid ran out 3 years ago, but I had a job to support it. Then lost said job (in part because of the apnea), so my savings began to dwindle. I figured I could lend, but the student-lending period ran out as well. Then got a note that my scholarship was revoked because of the delay and would I please pay everything back (16.000 Euros). Then it turns out that at least 6 months of school-work was no longer admissible and I have to redo my minor. My savings are reduced to nothing and after six years of school I have almost nothing to show for it.

The job I did have was not enough to pay for school and health-insurance, which brings me to today. I'm negotiating more work-hours with the boss, he's reluctant but I'm hopeful. If I don't get it I might have to quit and find another job. I've begun anew with classes, though am thoroughly disillusioned by the current market and the way the industry works, so I might not even try to find work in the industry.

Also, the school councilor is an ass and, being in position where students only contact him when they have a problem, is ideally situated to kick you when you are down.

All in all, my life is a dream. One of those that began just great with all your lovers and friends near you, right before they all die or leave you alone. Good times.

My most sincerest condolences, nightlock.

One door closes, another one opens.
I'm going to die the way I've lived...poor, screaming, and naked.

nightlock, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. I lost my Dad 5 years ago this month. Big hug! I wish you strength and courage for the times ahead. We are all struggling in some way or another and it is easy to get overwhelmed. Know that your SV family is here beside you.

I may not have been clear, that happened 4 years ago. It is where my problems began.

Ah, the life cycle of gubberment contracts. The new follow-on contractor at my job held interviews today. I think I did good, everything was pretty up-beat, and the interviewers seemed to be satisfied with my answers to their questions. The only thing is, I won't know for sure until maybe as late as the end of August.
