So, this is just an idea I've been fooling around with for a while. That's what happens when I grow bored, and my fantasy is let loose, and I spend too much time reading about aliens and Area 51 and stuff. And the fact that Midway has finally released their new game, "Blacksite: Area 51", just might have something to do with it as well.

Anyways, here's the deal. The idea I've been playing around with is to make an RPG-thread here in the lines of alien abductions, military secrets and government cover ups. Conspiracy theories in it's best, and fantasy let loose. I've already got a pretty neat story, though I probably will have to polish it up a little more as we come along in it. For now, let me sum it up in a few words: Alien attack on village in northern USA. US Army intervention to keep it secret, and plenty of scary adventures for civilians as well as soldiers.

So... For now, I'm just going to ask y'all how many is interested in participating? I.e. if there's anyone who's game, otherwise my idea will probably self-die.

As I said, this is what happens when I'm bored, but I think it might be fun if there's anyone interested in playing.

This is right up another one of my allys. When do we start and what is the backstory?

To Llew, too bad you don't wanna join. Though I didn't plan to have any politics in the game, it's to be more out in the field than in the White House halls of power, so to speak.

Talon, well, I'd like to hold off another day or so, just to see if there's anyone else that wants to play as well, before we begin. (Though of course they can join after we've begun as well). Then we'll rock on...*cough*andkicksomealienbutt*cough*.

Well, as for the backstory... Let's see if I can summarize it now, then.

It begins in a small city in the northern United States, where the people who live there witness strange lights in the sky (á la the Phoenix Lights). The lights disappear with time, after a few days without their presence being explained satisfyingly, even by scientists.

Something strange then happens in the city. Communications fails to the outside world, and the US Army suddenly moves in and put the city under quarantine by order of FEMA. Nobody on the outside knows what is going on, though leaked information is hinting at some sort of biological weapons attack, possibly by terrorists.

That's the censored version of the backstory. The rest will reveal itself with time, heh.

So, the way I was planning to put it up was to let the players take the roles of a team of soldiers (think Doom, Aliens, or Area 51 type), but also, if there's more people who are interested to join, important people who live in the city, or who are taking part in the situation in other ways. I've got a few ideas for these characters, but really, anything is fair game as long as you can justify their being in a quarantined city guarded by US military personnel.

So, anyone who wants to join up, let me know how your character works, and/or if you want to take a job as one of the G.I's (not realy G.I's, but yeah yeah) that are being sent into the hotspot to find out what is going on there.

Oh, and as I've said before, there's plenty of room for you to join up after the story's running as well, so don't sweat it.

I've got a few suggestions, except for the soldiers themselves, for characters that I've thought about placing in the story (characters that you may, if you want to, hijack):

x A journalist, who manages to sneak through the quarantine to find out what is going on in the city.
x A dawg who runs the resistance, or civil defenses in the city, trying to help people survive the catastrophe.
x A virus expert who is going with the soldiers into the city to take samples of the virus, and try to help them find a cure.
x Mysterious dawgs who are responsible for covering up the situation in the city (and now, we're talking way beyond soldiers. I'm talking government agents, black ops types, men in dark suits and with a number rather than a name. Bah, you get my point).

Anyways, let's do a Lycoria here, and write about any characters you want to throw into the fray, and/or if you want to take on any of these roles. (Though the leader of the soldiers is mine to hijack, heh).

Travis Lykienn AKA Wolf

5'10" (177 Cm) tall weighing at about 190lbs (86 Kilo) Short brown hair and slight build.

Wolf is a highly trained Ex-US Marine, with specializations in reconnaissance, Hand to Hand combat, and Infiltration. Afterward he went to college and became a well trained computer specialist in the the area of security and programing. After a few successful years he was recruited into S.U.I.T.E. Where he provides the hacking and computer aspect of the unit.

Wolf is usually described as intelligent and experienced but has moments described as CRAZY and irrational to the point of being a danger to himself, the people around him, and any standing structure with in sight.

Derrick Cole, aka Ghostshark
Rank; Master Sergeant, US Army (Called "Sarge" by his men.)

Cole is a former South-African Special Forces member and ex-mercenary, who moved to the United States after losing several comrades in a failed military operation in Africa. Because of this he suffers from "Survivor's syndrome", though it has never gotten in the way of his job. In the US he served together with the Special Forces for several years before becoming the squad leader of a team of Force Operations agents.

Cole is a somewhat silent person, and appears to be a lone wolf. He is a closed person to everyone including his own squad, even though he's earned their trust with every mission they've been together on so far. He doesn't seem to have any family, or anything that rescembles a civilian life, and he seem at times to be a very bitter, and lonely man, much because of his survivor's syndrome. He is a soldier; when he is given an order, he carries it out without questioning it. But he always puts his own squad in priority, even above his orders.

Cole is in his late twenties, with dark, almost black hair, cut relatively short, and with black stubble almost always covering his face. He has Jade-green eyes, and a small scar protrudes from the corner of his right eye, and goes down to his cheek bone, a memory of where a bullet once grazed him.

Oh, yeah, Force Operations, or SUITE, that's the fictional special forces unit that the four soldiers are part of. I'm thinking the idea with Force Operations is sort of, "send a small team with as much firepower as possible". Anyway, they're some of the best there is, in this RPG, and a highly secretive unit recruiting all manner of elite personnel to their ranks, with no difference being made whether they're Americans or foreigners (as long as they can do their job well).

Yeah, me too. I especially hope we get the right character interaction between the soldiers (since they've quite obviously fought with eachothers for a good while before this mission).

I just wish Talon would be here now so we could start alreaddyyyyyyy.


Edit: Also, Talon, so you know it, the official name of the unit is S.U.I.T.E, (Acronym for Single Unit Infiltration and Tactical Elimination. Thanks, Ranryu for the great acronym. Acronyms rock.) They are inofficially known as "Force Operations" because their motto in combat is "send in a small unit, with as much firepower as possible".

I figure since no others seem to want to join, I'll write one of the two remaining soldiers (four-man squad), assuming that Talon will want to play the role of one of the soldiers as well. The rest of the characters (bi-characters) will reveal themselves with time, and are, as always, free for the taking.

Anyways...

Janet "Jan" Osagi, Corporal, US Army

Jan Osagi is a beautiful Native-American woman in her mid-twenties. She joined the Army Rangers at the age of 19, following in her father's footsteps, and becoming a survival instructor there, and later also an instructor for field medics. She later also spent some time working with a Native American military tracking unit fighting drug smuggling on the Mexico-US border. As such, she is a highly skilled tracker and medic, and she was recruited into SUITE only two months after returning from a tour in Iraq with the Army Rangers.

Jan is a tomboyish woman, who enjoys a good laugh and a practical joke from time to time, often played on her team mates. She also enjoys getting drunk with her fellow soldiers when not on duty. When she IS on duty, she is a good soldier, and serves as the team's medic. Her person is warm, fun, and happy, but she is also very empathic, and always seems to be able to read other people's emotions.

She is also the only person that knows Cole's story of the failed military operation in Africa, and as such, the only person that Cole really can call a friend, and he sees her pretty much as a little sister. In fact, the whole unit probably sees her as their little sister. A very bothersome one, when she plays jokes on them, but still a sister.

Meh... Something like that.

Another thing I'm worried about is this. Since it's a military unit, Cole, as the sarge, will be giving orders to the others, and I'm worried that I take too much control over y'all without thinking about it. If that happens just let me know and I'll back off a little.

Are you still roleplaying this? I'd like to join but I have never roleplayed before, so a quick few tips on what I should be doing would be very helpful. And where do you roleplay? Surely not here on this thread, right? lol
