It was the first day of October, the year was 2004. I had just started my new job at Adventure Central, an After-School program for kids. I was on my way home from work, when I had got a surprising phone call. The passion from her voice would have made any man cause a traffic accident, and she had simply said; "Are you Mike?" I had to play it cool, I had to show her no sign of weakness, so I said; "This is Mike, Can I help you?" She began telling me that her name was Brittany and that she was my friend Jovan girl. So I ask her "How did you get my number?" She replied, "Jovan gave it to me." So I said, "Why would he give you my number?" She said, "I had a question for you." "What was your question?" I asked calmly. "Be honest with me," she said. "What does Jovan look like?" When she asked me that question I was lost. What do I do what do I say, should I be honest and keep it real, or should I lie to her. When it came to me and Jovan, I was the ladies man and he was just there. I was known for breaking up relationships, and Jovan was just there. So finally it hit me and I asked her, "If you to are together, then why you don’t know what Jovan look like?" She explained that they met in the chat room, and that Jovan had sent her a picture, so she wanted to know if that was really him before she comes down and visit. Once she told me that I said ok, and I described him from head to toe, "5"11, 130lbs, lanky, no muscle tone, oval head with acne." After I had told her, it was dead silent on the phone, and finally she said, "That’s not the one you described in the picture." " The person I'm looking at, is 6"1, 155lbs, short cut, glasses and is very toned out." That person sound familiar I thought, as I pulled up to my house and it hit me again, she described me. So once again I’m stuck in a dilemma, should I tell her it was me, or should I lie for him. So many thoughts were running through my mind until finally, I just decided to tell her the truth. I told her it was me she was describing not him. She didn't believe me at first, until I sent her an updated photo of me. After that night she never called me or Jovan back, Jovan think they broke up because of the long distance but because of what he did to her and me, I never told him the real reason, and I never will.
