Yeah, I got it too.

Spam bots travel about the web scraping names off of forums. They then use those names to try their random list of passwords. If they get in they flood the forum with spam. This is why I keep it set to lock it out after only a few attempts before asking for captcha verification.

Robots can't read captcha.

I know its a pain to take the extra step, but honestly this is just the forum doing what its supposed to do to keep others out of your account.

I'm not complaining just a bit confused that is all.
I really don't see the point of trying to brake in to forums.
I also think that Trojans and viruses are pretty stupid, and we should get rid of them.

I think the Greeks would have agreed with you. That's why they built that horse.

Some of them do serve a purpose. Mainly to obtain financial and other bank information (account and credit numbers, passwords, etc.) that can be used to steal money from the people that made it.

I'm not saying it's a GOOD purpose.
