Posting hic-ups.

Post by Boikat »

Hi!

Whenever I write a long post that gets longer than the, for lack of a better term, the "post window", the curser moves off the bottom, and the text does not automatically scroll upwards. Instead it jumps back to the top of the page, leaving what I just wrote below the bottom of the post window. It's very annoying, and a bit of a put-off . Is there some setting I have to change. It's been doing this for a while, but I don't recall if it was doing it before my computer got screwed by some mall-ware that messed up the computer so bad that I ended up having to resort to Geek Squad to fix (which was way back in December.)

It's so bad, I think I've developed a twitch in my left eye. :P

Maybe the window had one of the Master's specialty drinks. Hope the hiccups stop soon.

I have never seen that happen...anyone else?

What browser are you using bk?

Are you posting in the quick reply, or the full editor?

I haven't had that particular problem (except when using my laptop with a mouse, and having my hand brush against the mousepad (that is supposed to be inactivated, but with some recent software upgrades doesn't seem to be consistently turned off); HOWEVER, since installing Norton 360, the banner ad at the page top (a Doubleclick cookie monster) seems to stop me from getting to the page content. Often, I have to hit the Refresh button up to 20 or so times before I'm able to get in, and each time I go to a different page at this site, the problem starts over. I have even tried changing the Norton default to "accept all cookies" but it does not make a difference. It sure "degrades the Web Experience"

This will happen occasionally at other websites that have doubleclick banner ads on top as well, but I usually just give up on those. It does not seem to happen with sites with other kinds of ads.

Sure hope there is some kind of fix for this. Help!

I'm using IE8 and using the full editor.
